July of 2013, eight members of Grace conducted a Vacation Bible School for about 30 children at the children's home in Jinotega, Nicaragua. We also did personal witnessing as much as we could with other people God brought in our path as well as maintenance of the facility. Thank you for your prayers and support!
Many of the babies at the main children's home in Los Cedros, just outside the capital of Managua, are adopted within a couple months because of the waiting list for new-bornes and very young children. Unfortunately, with the focus for adoption being place on babies, many of the kids at the children's home in Jinotega are older and have little hope of being placed into a good home. Our support of Joy's work there is of great importance for
her well-being and that of these precious children. The little ones in her care receive love and care as well as daily exposure to God's Word.
A Cow Makes a Big Difference
Thanks to your generous giving, the orphanage was able to purchase this cow. It will supply milk, butter, cream, and cheese. This will save having to purchase these items. It will also give the children twice the amount of milk they had previously. Upon her arrival, she was quickly dubbed 'Buttercup' and has since had a calf. It was a package deal with a $4.50 delivery fee that entailed an all day walk from where they bought her.
